I was asked to do this angus bull and said "Yah I can do that"
I hope I pulled it off alright since this is the first ever warm-bodied thing that I've ever attempted to airbrush.
Not having an art background, I've never even attempted to draw a serious picture of an animal before.

The customer was very happy with it - thankfully

Nice work, I bet they are very happy.
If I am ever asked to do a bull, I think that I'll ask if I can do the cow instead, or better yet, do they have any sheep.

Good job- you did OK!
Painting on a rock is not easy either.
Years ago I did a bodgied Angus bull- I wasn't happy with it, but could do no better.
Last year I did a brahman- here it is:

All in enamels- they do get easier!

P.S. How big was the rock?

Ian - I definitely found it a little difficult to paint on my first ever rock. It was approx. 24 x 16"

You did an especially nice job on the neck area of yours.

Nice work Bear... Did you have any problems masking off ?  i.e. having the mask stick to the rock ?

Thanks St Peddle - surprisingly it wasn't bad at all since the rock is pretty rough, they picked the rocks

I just used plain paper with 3M 77 and really pushed it down well with my thumb to get it stuck down. It held well and I sprayed lightly and built it up. It worked well - I now have 5 or more to do.

My concern is going to be the clear to use on them.

The people I did that for were fans of John Wayne- hence Big Jake.
It was 6x4 ft, & at the time I used a paache VL- mostly sprayed wet-on-wet with enamels.
No clear coating at all.
Thanks for the compliments on the sign!

Kudos! I think it's pretty amazing that you were able to keep the lettering so uniform on such an un-uniform surface!
